Midsummer, June 23-26, 2005

This year for Midsummer I ended up going to Daniel’s summer cottage near Kristinehamn in Värmland, pretty much in the middle of Sweden. Daniel is one of John Liungman’s best friends, and he was nice enough to invite me along for a great long weekend!

We drove up to Daniel’s place on Thursday afternoon. The house is in an idyllic location, with the backyard right on a beautiful lake. We ended up taking it pretty easy all weekend as we weren’t too many people (maxed out at 7 at any one time), but it was exactly what I needed after my long trip to Germany.

The first order of business on Midsummer Eve was to make the midsummer pole. John Camilla and I were put in charge with picking flowers and getting it all set up. As you can see from the pictures, we had super weather all weekend long (something very untypical here for Midsummer!) and we had a good time with all the flowers running around in our bathing suits.

The rest of the weekend we spent swimming, playing games, relaxing, sleeping a lot, and drinking! It was a really great time we all spent together!
